Hey everyone, welcome to the Chilling With The Dogs website. My name is Sarah and I will be creating the content on here with contributions from family, friends and most importantly our fur family members of course.
I have pretty much grown up from a young age with at least one dog, my grandparents always had dogs, and from around 10 years old we got our very own family dog a labrador named Ben. From then on I have never really been without at least one canine companion in my life, and along the way I have made a lot of memories, found out a lot of useful information, and most of all had a lot of fun.
I now want to share these things with you.
Our Dogs
We all think our dogs are the best, and we are all right, no matter what size, shape, colour or breed every dog is unique, which I have found from the ones I have shared my life with.
First we had Ben a yellow Labrador, a big bundle of fun, he was loud, boisterous and a chewer…. Pretty much everything from a shoe through to the apple tree which suddenly disappeared from view in the garden one day, oh and also the dining room table and chairs!
Then there was Shando a tiny mixed breed pup I bought home one day while my parents were on holiday, she was the first dog I owned myself, and she was perfect.
Then came Todd a cross collie rescued from the dogs home he became Shandos companion, and although i’m not sure how old he was when we got him he had 14 great years with us.
Then came Yuki my beautiful Alaskan Malamute puppy, she is 8 now, and then 3 years later along came her soul mate a 5 year old rescue malamute named Polar Bear he is now 10.
Along the way I have also fostered dogs, my beautiful little shar pei Pudding, who was a permanent foster passed earlier this year, Deakin my Shar pei boy who I fostered and then adopted is 5, and then Bella our lovely little 5 year old rescue Chow.
The newest addition to the family is Kiki my brothers husky cross rescue shes 13 months old and has been enjoying her new life for the past couple of months with him.
What I’ve learnt
I’ve learnt many things along the way, health related issues, behaviour issues, and just general things you learn when you share you life with a dog or multiple dogs.
There are so many cool things to do with your dogs, activities, days out, places to eat, places to stay that are all dog friendly.
I have used a lot of different products over the years, leads harnesses, beds etc, and there are a lot more things I plan on trying.
I’ve set up this website to share all of these things with you, and I hope you find something interesting along the way, that maybe you didn’t already know or that can maybe help with an issue you are having. Also, we would love to hear any stories or information you want to share to.
So welcome to the family,
Sarah.
